Fatima Zahra is a Research Director at PDRI-DevLab. In this role, she directs several research projects concerning the effects of climate change on human trafficking and early childhood development. Dr. Zahra is also a Research Fellow at the Mittal Institute at Harvard University. Prior to joining Penn, she worked as a Postdoctoral Research Scientist at Global Ties for Children at NYU. Dr. Zahra’s research focuses on the intersection of human development, forced migration, and evaluation. Her research addresses inequalities in learning, health, and employment outcomes in forcibly displaced and other marginalized populations using culturally responsive randomized evaluations and large-scale policy evaluation studies. Dr. Zahra graduated with honors with a Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Studies in Human Development from the Department of Human Development and Quantitative Methods at the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education.
