Migration and Displacement

Faculty Lead: Guy Grossman

Migration and displacement are reshaping communities across the globe, driven by climate change, conflict, governance failures, and economic shocks. PDRI-DevLab investigates these dynamics to understand not just why people move, but also how displacement affects livelihoods, institutions, and social cohesion.

Our work includes:

  • Identifying the drivers of migration and forced displacement across Africa, South Asia, and Latin America.

  • Evaluating reintegration programs for deported migrants and displaced persons.

  • Assessing interventions to combat human trafficking and exploitation.

  • Studying social cohesion and refugee–host relations in fragile contexts.

Our projects combine field experiments, large-scale surveys, and qualitative research with partnerships including IOM, UNHCR, IPA, and national governments.
