July 2025

PDRI-DevLab is excited to announce the launch of our dedicated webpage for the Forced Displacement Working Group (FDWG): Click here

Since October 2023, FDWG has grown to over 200 members across academic, governmental, and operational sectors, bridging the gap between what policymakers identify as urgent priorities and the research questions academics tend to pursue.

Our Mission

Led by Guy Grossman, Erik Wibbels, Claire Adida (Stanford), and Thomas Ginn (CGD), FDWG advances evidence-informed responses to forced displacement through:

  • Applied research on policy-critical questions and frontline operational challenges
  • Translating findings into actionable, context-relevant insights for practitioners
  • Building collaboration between researchers and implementers to co-design projects and learning agendas

Impact & Growth

Through biannual meetings featuring interactive roundtables, lightning talks, and panel discussions, FDWG creates synthesis briefs and fosters cross-sectoral dialogue that strengthens institutional responses and improves outcomes for displaced people and host communities.

With four successful meetings completed and a fifth planned for Fall 2025, FDWG continues expanding as a dynamic, member-driven learning community.
