Leon Gwaka

Leon Gwaka is a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Center for Technology, Innovation, and Competition working on the 1 World Connected project under the supervision of Prof Christopher Yoo. His research focuses on digital infrastructure transformation in resource-constrained communities, technology, and Sustainable Development Goals, as well as impact assessment.

In 2015, Leon received funding from USAID and Resilient Africa Network (2 cycles) to implement the MOSMAC project in Beitbridge, Zimbabwe. His PhD focused on the critical impact assessment of the MOSMAC intervention on the community livestock system’s sustainability and household food security. He was a finalist in the 2017 BCFN Young Earth Solutions edition. Leon also trained as a professional accountant in South Africa.
