Dr. Thirumurthy publishes paper in Nature on the effects of cash transfers on mortality in low- and middle-income countries
Aaron Richterman, Harsha Thirumurthy, and Jere Behrman published a paper in Nature last week titled The effects of cash transfers on adult and child mortality in low- and middle-income countries. The paper reports large reductions in mortality rates among women and children following the introduction of cash-transfer programs in low- and middle-income countries. It was also featured in a New York Times article.
