Harsha Thirumurthy was awarded an R01 grant from NICHD for a new project in Kenya, A savings intervention to reduce men’s engagement in HIV risk behaviors. This project will be testing the effects of a prize-linked savings account on health and economic behaviors among men in high HIV prevalence communities in western Kenya, with the goal of reducing HIV risk.
A pilot project funded through Penn’s Quartet program provided preliminary data for this R01 grant. The project includes collaborators from Impact Research & Development Organization in Kenya, UCSF, University of Washington, and RTI International.
