Zung-Ru has been the chief data scientist working closely with DevLab since 2021 and leading the technical aspects of the Machine Learning for Peace (MLP) project. He focuses on resolving technical challenges and ensuring the data pipeline functions smoothly to support research objectives. His responsibilities include fine-tuning and deploying neural network models, designing algorithms using mathematical and statistical approaches, optimizing Linux systems and cloud infrastructure for efficiency, developing scripts for servers and API calls, and engineering NoSQL databases.
In addition, Zung-Ru works on aligning backend processes with frontend requirements, implementing data scraping and parsing solutions, integrating language models into the research pipeline, and ensuring appropriate technologies to generate high-quality data for social science research. This balanced approach helps ensure that PDRI-DevLab’s outputs are reliable and relevant, contributing to meaningful insights into social issues.
He also coordinates various technical aspects of research projects that PDRI-DevLab undertakes with external partners and institutions. His experience with processing vast amounts of big data across different platforms contributes to his meticulous approach to generating technical insights and designing methodologies.
