Guatemala MPP Project

DevLab partnered with RTI International and the Guatemalan think tank ASIES to conduct an endline survey to evaluate the success of the Model Police Precinct program (MPP). The program was implemented by RTI International between June 2016 and June 2019, with funding from the United States Department of State’s Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement. Its objective was to strengthen collaboration between the Guatemalan National Civil Police (PNC) and municipal police forces to deter crime across the country. The survey was conducted between July and September of 2019, reaching 18,715 respondents in 64 municipalities of 14 of the 22 departments of the country. Besides program evaluation, the survey included modules on support for vigilantism, access to public services, corruption, and legacies of the civil war.
